The ETH Zürich iGEM Team 2018 presented its smelling robot A.R.O.M.A at this year’s iGEM Giant Jamboree. The robot relies on a fast chemotactic biosensor and a 3D-printed microscope to search for the source of volatile compounds such as DNT. The project obtained great feedback during the competition and the team was awarded the iGEMer’s prize and was nominated for the Best Presentation, Best Applied Design, Best Hardware, and Best New Application awards.
